Má, the Chinese name for cannabis, used as a medicine dates back to the ancient time. Doctors prescribed marijuana in small quantities to relief pain, rheumatism, arthritis, nausea and other pain related ailments. The Chinese believed that ‘marijuana’ was a plant that possesses the yin and yang, and therefore was able to balance out the human anatomy when administered to patients who were in pain. Although it was not legalized then, marijuana has found itself into the medical circle, and it’s been explored as a pain relief medication.
CBD – what is it?
Cannabis, also is known as hemp or marijuana, is a plant with 483 known compounds. The most well-known is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is responsible for the euphoria you feel when a large dose of cannabis is ingested by an individual. The CBD compound, however, does not produce any psychoactive effects and has proven to be a very effective treatment for chronic pain, psychosis, anxiety, inflammation and seizures among others. Basically you get the therapeutic effects of marijuana without getting “high”.
How can it help?
One of the aims behind the popularity of CBD is the ability to reduce chronic pain. Evidence suggests that the CBD works by obstructing the neuronal transmission of pain pathway, thereby reducing the pain. A study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine found that CBD oil significantly reduced prolonged inflammatory pain without any negative side effects registered.
CBD pain creams
Founded in 2015 by David Goldsmith and Perry Antelman, CBD CLINIC™ wanted to break down the stigmas associated with typical cannabis-based pain treatments. Their mission was to create a CBD product with virtually zero THC that would allow it to be sold legally in the U.S. as an over-the-counter pain medication. The latest breakthrough is the CBD topical medication, which is the ‘first and only’ non-prescription creams and ointments with FDA approved ingredients and cannabidiol for the treatment of pain.
Since its introduction to health and wellness professionals in 2016, CBD CLINIC™ pain creams have provided unprecedented relief to patients across the U.S., including NFL players, and other professional athletes. And with no psychoactive effects or addictive qualities, CBD CLINIC products are safe for anyone to use, without having to worry about a positive drug test.
